Disney has revealed the brand-new trailer for the upcoming Christmas comedy film, Home Sweet Home Alone, and fans of the original film are wondering if the iconic Kevin McCallister will make an appearance.

Home Sweet Home Alone is the sixth installment in the Home Alone franchise and is directed by Dan Mazer with script duties by Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell.

Is Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin McCallister in Home Sweet Home Alone?

No, Macaulay Culkin will not be returning to play Kevin McCallister in Home Sweet Home Alone.

The actor from the first two Home Alone films has not appeared in the franchise’s third, fourth, or fifth film.

Culkin even made a joke about the sixth chapter’s reveal by posting a photo to his Instagram of him surrounded by takeaway boxes and an upside snowman pillow captioned with: “This is what an updated Home Alone would actually look like.”

It has been rumored that Culkin will make a small cameo in the film, but this has yet to be confirmed, and fans will just have to wait and see the film to find out if he makes an appearance.

Is Buzz McCallister in Home Sweet Home Alone?

Even though Culkin will not return and Kevin’s character will not be passed on to another star, actor Devin Ratray, who played Kevin’s brother, Buzz, will be making a return as the same character.

The trailer showed a quick glance at Buzz McCallister, who is now a 30-year-old police officer called on to inspect suspicious people within an up-market housing area.

What is the film about and where to watch?

Home Sweet Home Alone follows 10-year-old, Max, Mercer, who has mistakenly been left at home while his family takes a trip to Tokyo, Japan. During his time in the house himself, Max must defend his home from a greedy couple who swing by to steal a family heirloom.

The holiday film stars Archie Yates, Ellie Kemper, and Rob Delaney and Disney + subscribers will be able to watch the film on the streaming platform when it premieres on November 12, 2021.
