**Warning – Spoilers ahead for Shameless**
Season 11 of the American show, Shameless, has just aired on Netflix, and fans of the show, who didn’t watch the Showtime series live when it first aired, are wondering if the series will return for season 12.
Shameless follows the long-running narrative about a large family of Gallaghers and their turbulent relationship with life, other people, and their father, Frank.
Will Shameless return for season 12?
No, Shameless season 11 was considered the final season of the American show.
After premiering in 2011, the Alibi has closed its doors ten years later, but that doesn’t mean Shameless is off the table for good.
Showrunner, John Wells, confirmed that this was indeed the end of the series we know, but not necessarily goodbye to the characters.
Wells stated to The Hollywood Reporter: “There is nothing planned. But never say never.” However, Wells did admit that the team had given some thought about what would happen to the characters “over the next few months” post-finale.
When did season 11 come out?
Shameless season 11 first aired on April 11, 2021 on Showtime.
The streaming service, Netflix, has recently caught up, provoking fans who didn’t watch the final season live to question its return.
Is Fiona in season 11?
No, Fiona does not appear in the final season of Shameless.
Fiona Gallagher, the eldest sister and guardian of the family, departed the show during the season 9 finale.
Showrunner, John Wells, previously announced that they would have loved to welcome Fiona, and her actor Emmy Rossum, back into the narrative for the finale season, however, the pandemic interfered.
During season 9, Fiona had a rocky time before setting her life straight. After selling her stake in the South Side Gentrifications project for $100,000 – and attending an AA meeting with Lip – Fiona backed her bags to do something for herself, for a change.
The finale saw Fiona leave half of the stake money for Debbie and took the rest with her on a plane trip to an undisclosed location.
