DC Comics has just revealed that its latest Superman, Jon Kent, will be bisexual.
In the new comic book series Superman: Son of Kal-El, Jon will take over the role of Superman from his father Clark Kent.
The series was first released in July, but a fifth installment is coming soon which sees Jon become romantically involved with a man, Jay Nakamura.
We were already introduced to him earlier in the series, but if you can’t remember, here’s what we know about Superman’s boyfriend.
Who is Superman’s boyfriend?
In the new comics, Superman will get into a relationship with character Jay Nakamura.
He is a reporter with bright pink hair and glasses who became friends with Jon Kent earlier in the series.
Jay is a Gammoran refugee living in the United States who runs a journalism page called The Truth.
He studies at Metropolis College where he is head of the Media Department. On the first day of school, he was saved by Jon Kent from a school shooter.
As reported by the BBC, they will start dating after Jon “mentally and physically burns out from trying to save everyone that he can”.
Jay will have powers of his own
DC has also revealed that Jay will have superpowers of his own.
Right now, we don’t know what those superpowers will be, but they will reportedly play a huge part in their relationship.
He will also have his own missions as a journalist and asylum seeker.
Jon and Jay therefore have a lot in common, which sparks romance between them.
DC releases kiss photos
After announcing that Superman will be bisexual, DC also released a series of teaser photos.
In the images, Jay Nakamura and Jon Kent can be seen sharing an intimate kiss, and it’s got fans excited for the fifth installment.
