Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, but Newcastle United have allegedly joined them in the race.

Tuttosport report that Kessie is one of the names on Newcastle’s list following their exciting takeover.

New majority owners PIF are on board and have huge money to spend, meaning new names are being linked with Newcastle every day.

Kessie, a ‘devastating’ midfielder according to Antonio Cassano, is the latest.

The Ivorian star is out of contract at the end of the season and currently looks likely to leave AC Milan.

Newcastle now want to sign the 24-year-old, seemingly sensing something of a bargain given his contract situation.

Liverpool want Newcastle target Kessie

News of Newcastle’s interest in Kessie comes just as rumours linking him with Liverpool are ramping up.

El Nacional in Spain report that Liverpool will make a big offer for Kessie. The Reds are allegedly willing to offer Kessie a huge €30million signing bonus – around £25million.

That is so Barcelona can’t compete and sign Kessie themselves.

It doesn’t sound very Liverpool to pay that kind of cash just as a signing bonus to a new player, but maybe they just love Kessie that much.

If that rumour is true, Newcastle would surely be able to compete thanks to their new owners.

Kessie could be faced with an interesting choice; join an instant trophy contender or join a team with an exciting new project that could scale amazing heights.
