Jeff Bezos tweet goes viral

Jeff Bezos posted a tweet to his 2.8 million follower Twitter profile on Monday (October 11th) that’s gone viral.

The entrepreneur posted a screenshot of an old news article that said his Amazon business idea was “silly” and Amazon’s stock price would come crashing down, ultimately saying the business was destined to fail.

Alongside the photo, he wrote: “Listen and be open, but don’t let anybody tell you who you are. This was just one of the many stories telling us all the ways we were going to fail.”

“Today, Amazon is one of the world’s most successful companies and has revolutionized two entirely different industries,” he continued.

Amazon is now one of the world’s biggest companies, worth a staggering $1.7 trillion.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk trolls the tweet

As Twitter users applauded Jeff for his uplifting tweet, Elon Musk took the opportunity to troll him.

The Tesla CEO’s response was short but effective. He replied with one emoji, a silver medal with a number two in the middle.

Earlier this year, Elon Musk took over Jeff Bezos as richest person in the world, which is what the entrepreneur was hinting at with his reply.

Jeff Bezos is now the second-richest person in the world, represented by the silver medal.

Elon Musk surpasses Jeff Bezos in net worth

In January 2021, Elon Musk replaced Jeff Bezos as richest person in the world.

After Tesla’s share price increased, his net worth reached a high of $183.8 billion, pushing him to the top spot.

However, their net worth’s are tight, and Jeff Bezos could easily take the lead again.
