Arsenal fans have been shocked by the speed of Emile Smith Rowe after his goal for England’s under-21 side last night.
Smith Rowe impresses
The Arsenal youngster has earned credit for his ability to take the ball in tight spaces, his dribbling skill and his passing range in recent times.
But his pace is not an asset which has always stood out at the Emirates Stadium.
That being said, Smith Rowe’s goal for England yesterday shows just how quick the Arsenal prospect is.
Smith Rowe set England on their way to victory over Andorra, after going on a lung-busting run from deep.
Smith Rowe set off from just outside his own box to latch and burst past numerous Andorra players, before being put clean through on goal by Curtis Jones.
The Arsenal man made no mistake with the finish, as he cooly slotted the ball home.
And Gunners supporters were impressed with the turn of pace which Smith Rowe showed during the contest.
Senior call coming?
Smith Rowe’s growing standing in the game continues to increase, after his starring performance for the under-21’s.
The Arsenal academy graduate cannot be too far away from earning a senior call-up, given the quality of his showings.
Smith Rowe has been one of Arsenal’s key players over the season so far, and if he continues to impress for England’s development sides, then it surely can’t be too long before Gareth Southgate takes a closer look at the creator.
