Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after Victor Orta showered Archie Gray in praise when speaking to La Media Inglesa.

What’s the story?

Well, it’s safe to say the Leeds fans on Twitter are not happy with Orta.

Some feel that the Director of Football at Elland Road has put unnecessary pressure on the 15-year-old wonderkid, and we agree.

Translated by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Orta said: “Hopefully nobody takes him away from us. Nobody is going to do that, he has Leeds in his blood.

“It has actually happened only a few times, in the South America Under-20 tournament Agüero scored ten or 12 goals or something like that, you could see he was different. Archie gives me the same feeling.”

Now, it’s perfectly reasonable for Orta to get excited about one of the biggest prospects coming out of Leeds.

However, in his role as Director of Football, he has to keep a lid on it.

Comparing the teenager to Sergio Agüero isn’t the wisest move, and we just hope Gray has a thick skin so he can face the pressure of the spotlight.

Furthermore, to say that you hope no other club poaches a player from you is probably the best way to get others interested!

Son of ex-Leeds star Andy Gray, and grandson of another ex-Leeds player in Frank Gray, the 15-year-old has football coursing through his veins.

Gray has already made history in football, becoming the youngest player to assist a goal in the EFL Trophy when he set up Amari Miller’s goal against Tranmere last month.

Orta added that he gets the same feeling from the prodigy as he did when first laying eyes on Douglas Costa and Angel Correa, in addition to Aguero.

Hopefully, Orta’s comments do not disturb Gray’s development, and he can continue to flourish in the Academy ranks.

For now, let’s see what the frustrated Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying about Orta’s comments…
