Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumours that Newcastle are set to sack Steve Bruce as manager.
Sky Sports are reporting that Bruce is edging closer to the exit door after the takeover of the club last Thursday by the Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF)
Newcastle are set to host Spurs at St James’ Park this Sunday, in what will be the club’s first game since their mega-money takeover.
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) are the richest owners in world football, after they replaced Mike Ashley in the hotsheat.
Spurs fans think Newcastle and everyone associated with the club will be provided with a big boost this weekend.
But there’s no doubt that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, who ended three defeats on the bounce before the international break by beating Aston Villa, will be hoping to spoil the party.
If the Magpies score an early goal, then the already party-like atmosphere will go up a notch.
But Spurs will certainly be looking to use that high wave Bruce’s side will be riding, in their favour.
And given how Bruce is perceived by the Newcastle fans, the mood will probably be even more positive if he’s not in the dugout.
