According to The Athletic, Allan Saint-Maximin and Martin Dubravka are really excited by the takeover of Newcastle United.
An investment group led by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and also comprising PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media, have taken over Newcastle from Mike Ashley.
It has been reported by The Athletic that winger Saint-Maximin and goalkeeper Dubravka have been ‘enthused by the takeover news’.
Exciting for Newcastle United fans
Saint-Maximin and Dubravka are key figures in the Newcastle team.
Both are regulars in the starting lineup when they are fit and available.
The winger and the goalkeeper being excited about the Newcastle takeover is certainly very promising for the fans.
It shows that the players believe that something big will happen.
Newcastle are a massive club, but under now former owner Ashley, they lacked ambition and were even relegated from the Premier League.
Under PIF, Newcastle can only do better than they did under Ashley.
The Magpies are unlikely to start challenging for the Champions League places in the Premier League table rightaway, but big things could happen gradually.
Just look at what has happened at Manchester City.
