ITV is embarking on a new adaptation of H.E. Bates’ novels, titled The Larkins, using the same material that 1990’s The Darling Buds of May was based on and fans of the upcoming show are keen to know more about the new Mariette played by Sabrina Bartlett.

The Larkins stars Bradley Walsh as Pa Larkin, Joanna Scanlan as Ma Larkin, Sabrina Bartlett as Mariette Larkin, and Tony Gardner as Alec Normal.

Who is Mariette Larkin?

Mariette is the eldest daughter of The Larkins and is known to be admired by many men, despite her eyes being set on traveling to Paris.

Mariette was previously played by Catherine Zeta-Jones in The Darling Buds of May.

Mariette will be played by Sabrina Bartlett and the actor has previously said the following about her character: “I think we encounter Mariette at a very interesting point in her life…she’s so hungry to discover herself and to see what else is out there and to meet new people.”

Meet Sabrina Bartlett

Bartlett is a 30-year-old British actor who already has a number of large roles in popular shows under her belt.

Born in Hammersmith, London, Bartlett has a healthy following of 76.1k followers on Instagram, where she regularly posts updates of her professional life.

Bartlett’s most recent and most notable role to date is from the hit Netflix series, Bridgerton, where she played Siena Rosso.

The actor’s other roles include Keren Smith in Poldark, a handmaid in Game of Thrones, and Abigail Turner in Victoria.

Where to watch The Larkins

The Larkins is scheduled to release on Sunday, October 10, 2021 on ITV.

Interested viewers will also be able to play catch-up and watch the first episode when it appears on the ITV Hub, shortly after it premieres on the channel.
