Newcastle United are interested in signing Ousmane Dembele, but they are facing still competition for the Barcelona forward, according to TEAMtalk.

TEAMtalk are reporting that Newcastle are among the clubs interested in signing Barcelona forward Dembele.
Liverpool, Chelsea, City, Bayern Munich and Juventus are also keen on securing the services of the 24-year-old France international on a free transfer next season.
The France international forward is out of contract at Barcelona at the end of the season.
The report has added that Newcastle could make an offer for the Frenchman, now that the Magpies have new owners.
An investment group led by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and also comprising PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media, have taken over Newcastle from Mike Ashley.
Should Newcastle make an offer?
There is no surprise to see Newcastle being linked with Dembele.
After all, Newcastle are a rich club now.
However, we think that Amanda Staveley and co. should not make an offer.
Yes, Dembele might come on a free transfer next summer, but he earns £200,000 per week as salary at Barcelona.
Moreover, the Frenchman has had injury problems.
Now, of course, Dembele is still only 24, and there is no doubt that he is very talented.
In May 2021, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel said on Soccer Am’s YouTube channel that Dembele is “one of the craziest natural talents” and is “very outstanding”.
Tuchel worked with the forward at Dortmund.
But Dembele’s injury problem is a cause for concern, and Newcastle should look at someone else.
