Is Squid Game star HoYeon Jung obsessed with Twitch streamer xQc? Fans of both parties are left highly confused after a tweet by Dexerto suggested the actress is “obsessed’ with the gamer. But, is it true?

HoYeon has become a household name after her feature in Netflix’s superhit Korean thriller, Squid Game. She has gained millions of followers on Instagram after appearing on the show and fans are desperate to know every little detail about the much-talented actress.

However, some aren’t able to come to terms with the fact that she is “obsessed” with American gamer, xQc. We’ll tell you why.

Post suggesting HoYeon Jung is xQc’s fan explored

The ongoing discussion about HoYeon’s appreciation of xQc stems from a tweet shared by Dexerto, who have suggested that the Squid Game actress is “obsessed” with the Twitch streamer.

The tweet reads, “HoYeon Jung, Squid Game star, reveals in a recent interview to Vogue Korea that lately she’s been obsessed with watching @xQc on Twitch.”

Furthermore, it includes an alleged quote by the actress herself, saying, “I just think he’s something the world needs right now, whenever I watch him my mood changes for the better.”

The news gained momentum as xQc went on to re-share the original tweet along with the caption, “REAL AND TRUE”.

Is the Squid Game star really obsessed with the Twitch streamer?

Even though a credible site made the above claim, there is no evidence or proof of the actress’ interview with Vogue Korea, where she has allegedly spoken about the Twitch star, as suggested in the original tweet.

Moreover, xQc isn’t the first gamer who has been associated with HoYeon. Several posts consisting of similar statements and quotes about other streamers have also been making rounds on the Internet and they are entirely baseless.

One such meme from earlier reads, “HoYeon Jung, Squid Game star, reveals in a recent interview to Vogue Korea that lately she’s been obsessed with “Mask” by Dream, along with the alleged quote “I just think his lyricism, energy, and passion is unmatched by anyone else in the game right now.”

Until we come across an actual interview of the actress that consists of these claims or until she addresses them on her own, it’s safe to believe that these tweets are bogus.

Twitter reacts to viral memes

While some Twitter users are wondering if Dexerto’s claim is true, others have shared similar memes to let everyone know that it isn’t real.

One tweeted, “These type of tweets are being used as copypasta right now and I’m overdosing so much copium right now that I thought this was real.”

Another added, “I no joke seen tens of tweets that start with “HoYeon Jung, Squid Game star, reveals in a recent interview to Vogue Korea that lately she’s been obsessed with watching <add your thing here>”

“This meme is by far the dumbest that I’ve ever seen on Twitter & I am a huge fan of HoYeon Jung,” tweeted another.
