Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to discuss Curtis Jones, with some feeling that he could become Jürgen Klopp’s Bruno Fernandes.
What’s the story?
Well, some supporters believe Jones could become their version of the Manchester United talisman if he gets into shooting positions more often.
So far this season, the 20-year-old has scored one goal and provided three assists in six appearances for Liverpool.
Four goal involvements in six outings is excellent, especially when you consider how deep Jones has been playing.
As Transfermarkt shows, the England Under-21 international has made three appearances as a centre-midfielder, and one at defensive midfield.
For a player of his attacking ability, Jones shouldn’t be deployed that far away from the goal, in our view.
The Liverpool-born maestro has a fantastic shot on him, and is able to cut open the opposition backline – we feel it’s time for a regular attacking midfield role.
Is Jürgen Klopp limiting Curtis Jones at Liverpool?

One thing you can confidently say about the midfielders in Klopp’s Liverpool side is that they don’t go forward very often.
Last season, Jordan Henderson scored just once, as did Thiago, whereas James Milner, Fabinho and Naby Keita failed to score.
Jones himself only netted four goals.
You rarely see a midfield player given license to roam and cause havoc in Klopp’s system, like Fernandes can at Old Trafford.

We’re not questioning the German, as Liverpool’s trophy haul shows he clearly knows what he’s doing.
However, Jones is different to the rest of Liverpool’s midfielders, so perhaps Klopp should try something new and free up the Reds Academy graduate.
For now, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about Jones…
