It’s a long time ago, but do you remember what you turned to your friends and said the minute you finished watching Spider-Man 3? Do you remember what they said to you?
Promotional material for the film was inescapable, and fans were glad. The film looked fantastic, teasing a number of villains that audiences simply couldn’t wait to meet. Unfortunately, many people left the theaters saying “damn, they really went and wasted Venom like that?”
We can imagine you or somebody you know left disappointed with the blockbuster and many took aim at the treatment of the extraterrestrial symbiote. Topher Grace’s portrayal of Eddie Brock wasn’t exactly what Venom superfans were hoping for.
However, there was hope that the character would triumph on the screen at long last with the release of Ruben Fleischer’s solo vehicle in 2018. With Tom Hardy taking over from Topher, the film was divisive but a majority praised the frenzied energy that the English actor brought with him to the part.
A sequel felt immediately inevitable and, of course, it’s now here. However, with some still uncertain whether they wish to head back to cinemas just yet, it’s worth contemplating the Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage DVD release date…
Is the Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage DVD release date confirmed?
No, the DVD release date for Venom: Let There Be Carnage is yet to be confirmed. However, we can offer an educated guess regarding when viewers can expect it.
Will it be out in time for Christmas? Well, movies roughly take around three months or so to release on disc after they’ve had their theatrical run.
The Venom sequel opened in theaters on Friday, October 1st 2021 and it’s likely that it could be released on DVD the week before Christmas as it would definitely boost sales. Alternatively, some big films from the tail-end of the year end up being released in early January.
We predict that it could make its way to DVD as early as Monday, December 20th 2021.
If you still don’t feel ready to head back to theaters, you’ll be happy to know that the film is now available to pre-order on Amazon Prime Video for $19.99 too.
As for the UK, on the other hand, the film opens on Friday, October 15th, so it’s unlikely to release on DVD and Blu-ray there until January 2022.
What is it about?
Venom introduced us into this exciting universe and the sequel serves to expand on the life and challenges of Eddie as he continues to grapple with the symbiote.
We follow them at a different point in their relationships of sorts as they evolve to understand one another better.
Meanwhile, there’s a big bad in town and his name is Cletus Kasady (played by Woody Harrelson), a serial killer who escapes from prison after becoming the host of the titular and iconic Spider-Man villain.
Expect the throwdown of a lifetime and more.
“There’s always a plan in place…”
While in conversation with ScreenRant, Tom Hardy was asked about Venom’s future and he certainly didn’t disappoint:
“Oh, there’s always a plan in place for more movies, there has to be. You can’t start one without thinking about the next one, like in that aspect, because this one will lead to that one. If it goes, you know?”
He added: “There will always be a reach out to the next, and then there [are] some very interesting options that can happen with Venom within the Venom-verse and within the universe that surrounds.”
If you know, you know.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage is now in theaters.
