Tottenham Hotspur have secured Pape Matar Sarr for the future – and he is already being likened to Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.
Tottenham fans were hoping for a midfield signing to make an instant impact under Nuno Espirito Santo.
That didn’t happen though as Fabio Paratici instead struck a signing for the future of the club.
Tottenham won the race to sign Metz talent Sarr, having seen a number of Europe’s top clubs challenge for his signature.
As part of the deal though, Sarr will stay at Metz on loan for the season.
Tottenham will only see Sarr next term, and excitement is already building over the 19-year-old.
Tottenham talent Sarr likened to Bellingham
We all know that Jude Bellingham is one of the top young midfielders in the game, and now Sarr is being spoken of in the same way.
French football expert Adam White – best known for being one of the brains behind Get French Football News – has spoken to Give Me Sport about Sarr.

White believes Bellingham is a ‘really good comparison’ for Sarr, feeling there are a lot of parallels.
“I think it’s a really good comparison actually,” said White. “There’s a lot of parallels between them in terms of their ability and the positions they take up. And their skillset, and the job you would ask them to do in midfield as well,” he added.
Bellingham could cost £100million. Paratici signed Sarr for Tottenham at a cost of just £14.6million plus add-ons.
If Sarr does end up having a similar future to Bellingham, this could be a staggering bargain for Tottenham.
