According to Sportime, Liverpool are monitoring Olympiacos wonderkid Aguibou Camara, and have taken details about the prodigy.

What’s the story?

Well, the Greek news outlet believe the Reds are now scouting Camara.

Liverpool are expected to continue watching the midfielder’s games, after leaving a recent match against Fenerbahçe impressed by what they saw.

On that occasion, Camara shone as Olympiacos won 3-0 in the Europa League Group Stage.

Sportime add that Olympiacos have a good relationship with Liverpool, which suggests a deal could be done if the Reds firm up their interest.

However, that may not happen for a while, as Sportime insist Liverpool are just scouting him for now.

Sportime add that Camara is a ‘special footballer’ who has more European clubs than just Liverpool keeping an eye on him.

What can Aguibou Camara offer Liverpool?

Sportime included a YouTube video of Camara’s best bits in their report of Liverpool’s interest, and one thing stands out.

In our view, the 20-year-old plays just like Naby Keita, albeit with a bit more youthfulness and pace to his game.

There are certainly similarities in their style and the way they move out on the pitch, while they also both play for Guinea.

Despite his age, Camara already has two caps for his country.

As Transfermarkt shows, he has predominately lined up in an attacking midfield role this season.

In that respect, Camara would offer Klopp another option to Curtis Jones or Keita in the No.10 role.

Even if Liverpool have no immediate need for the Olympiacos No.22, we believe they should sign him anyway and loan him out.

Simply put, Camara looks too big a prospect to be allowed to go elsewhere.
