The viral video posted by a college student named Grace on her TikTok page ‘graccxx’ has already garnered over 11 million views.

The video’s on-screen caption sets the scene for the drama that ensues in it. The caption reads, “My roommate’s dad harassing my boyfriend for not wearing a mask in my own room.”

In the TikTok comments, Grace indicated “campus police were on their way and needed video proof.”

Explaining what had happened, Grace clarified that both she and her roommate are Asian. We further see that the college student’s father yelling at the boyfriend while he is sitting down.

We can hear him shouting, “Because you didn’t wear a mask!” When the young man starts to respond, the teen’s father yells saying, “Close your mouth! Wear a mask!”

The dad then asks the boyfriend if he speaks English. The boyfriend, who seems a tad bit confused about how to handle the situation, says, “no I don’t speak English,” while clearly speaking the language.

The father then says, “Okay, you don’t speak English, then you should go back to your country! I don’t know where you’re from!” Taken aback by the comment, Grace’s boyfriend says, “Is this a joke right now?”

As things start to heat up, the father angrily quips “I’m from Hong Kong! I know English!” When the young man starts to get up from his chair, the father becomes furious and decides to instigate a physical fight.

“COME ON!” yells the dad, adding, “I’m so scared!”

“I’m not gonna fight you,” the boyfriend says.

Despite the father’s attempts, Grace’s boyfriend does not initiate physical violence.

In the comments of the video, Grace further claimed, “the roommate was defending her parents and her mom put her hands on me, trying to stop me from recording.”

Users react to the viral clip

While on most TikTok videos users have varying opinions about a certain situation, for this one, it seemed like almost everyone sided with the boyfriend even without knowing the whole situation.

One user said, “Nah this boy was raised right cause his restraint from swinging is immaculate.”

A second user commented saying, “Bro has insane self-control my anger would take over so fast.”

A third user said, “The amount of patience in this video is astounding, he won without having to put a single finger on him.”
