Black Widow: Release date and plot

After facing several agonising delays, Black Widow finally hit cinemas around the world back in July and was controversially released on Disney+ via Premier Access at the same time.

Set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Black Widow fills in the missing chapters we’ve yet to uncover about the enigmatic Natasha Romanoff and her history in the Red Room.

Pursued by a relentless force from her past, Natasha must face her complex history as a spy and the messy relationships she left behind before she became a linchpin in the Avengers.

Other Marvel things coming out in 2021

While Black Widow may have been the first Marvel movie to release since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the MCU has not slowed down with an endless stream of new content heading our way.

We’ve already seen WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and What If…? on the small screen as well as Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in the cinema.

And yet, still to come in 2021 are:

  • Eternals | November 5th – New movie hitting cinemas around the world, set to introduce some of the most powerful characters in the MCU.
  • Hawkeye | November 24th – The latest Disney+ series picks up Clint Barton’s story after the event of Avengers: Endgame.
  • Spider-Man: No Way Home | December 17th – Peter Parker’s third film which is set to be one of the most highly-anticipated films of the year with several rumoured returns on the cards.

While fans may have endured an MCU-free 2020, it’s safe to say that 2021 promises to be a great year for Marvel fans.
