Arsenal look set to axe Alexander Lacazette at the end of the season, and the search for his replacement is already on with Ollie Watkins wanted.
That’s according to The Sun, who claim that Lacazette looks likely to leave when his contract ends next summer.
Edu is already looking for possible replacements, with Aston Villa star Watkins believed to be one of the top targets.
Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another target, but Watkins is particularly interesting.
Watkins admitted to Sports Gazette in 2020 that playing for Arsenal is his dream.
Watkins grew up supporting the Gunners but believed a move to the Emirates Stadium was a ‘long shot’.
The England international hit 14 goals in the Premier League last season. On Sunday, Watkins got off the mark for the season with a goal against – you guessed it – Tottenham Hotspur.
The 25-year-old would surely cost big money, and Aston Villa fans seem split about the prospect of a deal.

Aston Villa fans react to Arsenal wanting Watkins
Villa supporters have been taking to Twitter, with some believing that Arsenal just can’t afford Watkins.
Others think that Watkins wouldn’t take a backward step by joining Arsenal, even if he supports them.
Some are though concerned that Watkins would be tempted to join Arsenal given his love for the club and could see a deal happening.
There were even some tweets believing that selling Watkins to Arsenal wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world, having seen Villa rebuild after Jack Grealish’s exit.
