The crossplay and cross platform multiplayer status for Nickelodeon All Star Brawl is disappointing but the developers have confirmed the inclusion of a fantastic mode from one of their other games.
While some have chalked it off as nothing more than a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate clone, there are lots of fighting game fans who are actually excited for its arrival. This is because of its childhood nostalgia as well as because it has a competitive edge.
It comes out very soon, but fans may be disappointed with its cross platform prospects.
Does Nickelodeon All Star Brawl have cross platform multiplayer?
Crossplay and cross platform multiplayer has not been confirmed for Nickelodeon All Star Brawl.
The developers haven’t officially commented on the feature, but it does not appear to be in the game. Steam and Microsoft do not have crossplay listed for the title on their stores, yet they both have cross platforms tags for games that support the mode such as Splitgate and Call of Duty Warzone.
This seems to confirm its absence, but just know that the developers haven’t officially made a statement. It’s also unclear whether PS4 can play with PS5, Xbox One with Series X, but this should be included.
Nickelodeon All Star Brawl multiplayer modes
Aside from Quick Match and Lobbies, one of the multiplayer modes for Nickelodeon All Star Brawl is Sports Ball.
Fans of Ludosity’s Splap City will be very familiar with the mode. It sees players attempt to launch a ball into the goal, and it’s as chaotic and frantic as you’d expect. Ludosity’s CEO, Joel Nyström, confirmed its inclusion in a Q&A with Game Informer.
Slap City has an overwhelmingly positive reception on Steam, and it’s Ludosity’s involvement with All Star Brawl that has people hoping it will be good.
How many players?
You will be able to enjoy single-player, but the maximum number of multiplayer players is three.
It’s basically the same as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate where you compete against on-to-three other persons to knock them off the map. Although the lack of crossplay is disappointing, Microsoft and Steam note that there is at least local multiplayer.
