Yes, Oscar ‘Spooky’ Diaz tragically loses his life in season 4 of On My Block

The character’s fate is sealed in episode 5 and takes place as Oscar is preparing for his upcoming move to Portland.

Oscar even asks his younger brother, Cesar, to come with him and Isabel to start a new life, away from the gang violence that they’ve known all their lives.

However, when Oscar goes outside to phone Isabel and grab some celebratory tequila from the moving van, his call is interrupted when he hears a car approaching and he hurriedly tells Isabel that he loves her and hangs up.

From inside the house, Cesar hears gunshots and rushes outside to see his brother lying on the ground.

It isn’t revealed who Oscar’s killer was but we hear Ray telling Cesar that Oscar was “in the life,” and the rising tension between Freeridge’s gangs means that any number of people could have wanted him dead.
