Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea got the better of Southampton 3-1 at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League yesterday.
Trevoh Chalobah, Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell were the goalscorers for Chelsea.
James Ward-Prowse found the back of the net for Southampton.
The midfielder scored from the penalty spot in the 61st minute.
Ward-Prowse was then controversially sent off in the 77th minute.
It was 1-1 at that stage.
That was the moment that probably changed the game, as Chelsea took advantage of their numerical superiority and scored two goals thereafter.

Ward-Prowse was sent off for a challenge on Chelsea midfielder Jorginho.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Murphy has said that it was the right decision to send off the Southampton star.
The BBC Match of the Day pundit believes that initially he thought that it was a yellow card, just like referee Martin Atkinson, but changed his mind after watching the replays.

Murphy said on Match of the Day on BBC One (10:49pm, October 2, 2021): “At first I thought it was the right decision when you see it like that. He has gone for the ball quite low. Then when you see in slow-mo, it’s dangerous, it’s the right decision. It’s a red card.”
It was a controversial decision, with Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson saying that Ward-Prowse was unlucky to be dismissed.
Chelsea will not argue, though, and will probably feel that they deserved the win.
As for Southampton, the Saints should be encouraged by the fact that they were holding the defending European champions until the dismissal.
