Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah was close to joining Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window, according to ESPN.

What’s the story?

It has been reported that Palace had agreed a transfer fee with Arsenal over the transfer of Nketiah.

The 22-year-old striker himself was ready to make the move to the Eagles and work under Arsenal legend Vieira.

So, what happened?

Well, according to the report, the move fell though because the player’s agent complicated the deal.

Not missing Eddie Nketiah?

Palace may have missed out on signing Nketiah, but the London club did bring in a striker in the summer transfer window.

Odsonne Edouard joined from Celtic, and, it is fair to say, he has hit the ground running at Palace.

The 23-year-old French striker has made one start and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Eagles so far this season.

The youngster has scored two goals in those games.

Edouard was scoring goals after goals in Scotland, and the way he has started his Palace career suggests that he could be a huge success in the Premier League as well.
