Jack Wilshere has said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:36pm, October 2, 2021) that Alexandre Lacazette played well for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal after coming on as a substitute against Brighton and Hove Albion tonight.

Lacazette did not start for Arsenal in the Premier League game tonight.

The France international striker came on as a substitute for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 72nd minute.

The match finished goalless.

Former Arsenal midfielder Wilshere was following the match for Sky Sports, and he was impressed by what he saw from Lacazette.

Wilshere said: “I think Lacazette made a difference when he came on, a few nice touches, dropping in and allowing runners to get behind.”

How did Alexandre Lacazette play?

Lacazette is not a regular starter, and the Frenchman is used to coming as a substitute.

So, there was not much surprise really to see the former Lyon star make an instant impact on the match.

The 30-year-old made Arsenal better in attack, linked up well with his teammates, and brought the other attacking players into play.

The striker had a pass accuracy of 85.7% and took 11 touches.

Lacazette has played 49 minutes in the Premier League, and has scored two goals and provided one assist in two Carabao Cup games for Arsenal so far this season.
