What Van Halen’s singer has to say about his retirement

Even though David told the interviewer to make the announcement about his retirement official, he chose not to explain the reason behind the same.

“I’m not going to explain the statement. The explanation is in a safe. These are my last five shows,” the singer said.

Before dropping the bomb, the singer reportedly said, “I ask that you bear with me here. Please try not to interrupt. I’m going to close my eyes and take you on a ride.”

He also revealed that he had just spoken to fellow band member Alex Van Halen before revealing the news.

“We speak to each other constantly, two or three times a day. We laugh like pirates,” he said.
