Dele Alli has admitted to Tottenham Hotspur’s official website that he has been having sleepless nights after being subbed off at half-time in the North London derby.
Difficult week for Dele
Tottenham were beaten 3-1 by Arsenal at the weekend, with Alli hooked off midway through the match.
In truth Nuno could have withdrawn a number of his players, given how poor Spurs were in the opening 45 minutes of the contest.
But it was Alli who was picked to be hooked off by Nuno and that decision, combined with the result, has caused the attacking midfielder to have a very tough week.
“It’s hard for us to take,” he said. “I think we know how much it hurt the fans but it hurt the players just as much, if not more.
“For me personally, after being subbed at half-time as well, I’ve had a couple of sleepless nights.
“We have to keep working and believe in the process. We’re going to keep working and try and improve.”
Making amends
Alli was at least given a chance to rectify his poor performance against Arsenal by Nuno last night.

The England International was selected to start for Tottenham against Mura in the Conference League and he got on the scoresheet in a 5-1 victory.
Alli has been backed heavily by Nuno so far, although there is still a feeling he is searching for his best form.
Alli has been forced to play in a deeper role than he has typically been stationed in so far, and there are question marks over whether it is getting the best out of his many assets.
