Paul Merson has predicted on SportsKeeda that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will fail to win against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at Anfield this weekend.
Liverpool will take on City at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Reds will head into the match at home on the back of an easy win against FC Porto away from home in the Champions League.
As for City, the defending Premier League champions went down to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League in midweek.
Former Arsenal and Aston Villa star Merson believes that the Premier League match between Liverpool and City will end 2-2, adding that lack of a centre-forward could affect Pep Guardiola’s side.
Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “What a game, eh? The standout fixture of the Premier League weekend. I just think Manchester City are struggling without a center forward and that could come back to haunt them.
“They scored a deflected goal against Chelsea, but they lost to PSG and didn’t really threaten Gianluigi Donnarumma between the sticks despite dominating possession. Donnarumma didn’t make a save I wouldn’t have expected him to make – it was evident that if Manchester City had a lethal center forward on the pitch, it could have been a different story.
“Goalscoring isn’t a problem for them if they are playing Norwich City and the likes, but in crunch games, they need to put their chances away.
“Liverpool, on the other hand, are scoring goals aplenty, so this is a really interesting game. I think both sides will score goals, so I’m predicting a 2-2 draw.
“The talent going forward outweighs the talent at the back, while it can also be said that if both teams get their best XIs out, there’s not a lot between them.”
A footnote added: “Prediction: Liverpool 2-2 Manchester City.”

Draw between Liverpool and Manchester City?
City are not scoring too many goals at the moment, but in the Premier League they are very solid at the back.
The Citizens were superb against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in London in the Premier League last weekend.
City did not allow Thomas Tuchel’s side a single shot on goal, but they are unlikely to be able to keep out the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota this weekend.

Liverpool are likely to score, but the way they conceded three goals against Brentford suggests that defensively there is work for them to do.
A draw could be the final outcome in this match.
