Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Ian McGarry has claimed that Tottenham’s players aren’t enamoured with Nuno Espirito Santo’s in-game management, nor are they fans of his body language during games.
The Portuguese manager hasn’t had the best of times in recent weeks. He has led Tottenham to three consecutive Premier League losses, conceding nine goals and scoring just once in the process.
Somewhat understandably, there are now reports of discontent emerging from Tottenham, and apparently, the players aren’t very happy with two aspects of Nuno’s management.
What’s been said?
McGarry says that Spurs’ players aren’t impressed by Nuno’s in-game management or his body language during matches.
“What I’ve heard from people close to the Tottenham dressing room is that the players are not impressed by Nuno’s in-game management. They don’t think he’s pro-active enough when they suffer difficulties in-game and also his body language is negative, there’s a lot of chat about the fact he stands on the touchline with his arms folded and doesn’t give out instructions to change things and change it up,” McGarry said.

Has to change
Nuno may have a relaxed and laid-back demeanour, but if that isn’t going down well with his players, he has to change.
Being a manager is about more than just training and tactics, you have to be able to adapt when your team isn’t doing well and able to motivate your players when they need a fire lit under them.
Nuno doesn’t seem to have a plan B right now, and unfortunately, he’s not the most vocal on the touchline either, and after Jose Mourinho’s tenure, that’s quite a stark contrast for the players.
