Everton’s pursuit of Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay may now be complicated by new interest from Manchester United.
That’s according to The Scottish Sun, who claim that Manchester United have joined the battle for Ramsay’s signature.
The Red Devils have allegedly watched Ramsay regularly this season ahead of a potential move in 2022.
United already have Aaron Wan-Bissaka but seemingly believe that Ramsay can be a star of the future at right back.
Everton’s interest in Ramsay
Everton attempted to sign Rangers’ teenage right back Nathan Patterson last month, but couldn’t get a deal done.
The Scottish Sun then reported that Everton had given up on the idea of signing Patterson and had turned to Ramsay.
Both Patterson and Ramsay are considered as top young talents in Scotland.
The report suggested that Everton thought they could sign Ramsay for cheaper than Patterson.
Whether that is actually true remains to be seen, but Ramsay is attracting major interest.

Everton could be better for first-team football
Many players will see Manchester United as being better than Everton for many reasons.
Yet when it comes to Ramsay, picking Everton may not be the worst idea.
Everton want a right back who will end up becoming Seamus Coleman’s long-term heir at Goodison Park.
Ramsay would have a clear plan in place at Everton, whereas what would his prospects be at Manchester United?
Wan-Bissaka only turns 24 in November, and is viewed as United’s long-term right back.
Ramsay may find himself struggling for playing time at United, and Everton represent a very appealing option.
