Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has shared an update on Tottenham potentially replacing Nuno Espirito Santo as their manager.

It was just over a fortnight ago that Nuno was named as the Premier League Manager of the Month, but now it sounds as though his job is at risk after three dreadful results.

Castles is led to believe that Tottenham are already considering other managers, while Nuno himself is also unhappy with his situation at the club.

What’s been said?

Castles shared what he knows about Tottenham’s managerial situation.

“The information I have is that Tottenham are already considering replacements for Nuno and also that this isn’t necessarily a unilateral process in that Nuno, I’m told’ also isn’t happy with his circumstances at Tottenham, it’s not what he expected when he came into the club, so there is discontent on both sides there. I think a lot of this is predictable,” Castles said.

Disaster

If Tottenham are already looking for replacements for Nuno, then this is never going to work.

Yes, it may not mean that Nuno is going to be sacked imminently, but the fact that they’re thinking about getting someone else in after just three league losses shows that they simply don’t have faith in him.

There’s something seriously wrong with the relationship between the club and the manager already, and we can’t see this ending well.

Fingers crossed whoever Tottenham look towards next is a manager who is trusted to build a long-term project.
