Jota believes the path clear of Ange Postecoglou’s troubled start to life as Celtic manager lies in learning from their mistakes and looking ahead, via the Hoop’s YouTube channel.

The Glasgow outfit already trail Rangers by six-points in the Premiership table after seven games after drawing with Dundee United. Liel Abada put Celtic ahead 16-minutes into the match on Sunday, but Ian Harkes drew the Tangerines level within two-minutes.

Celtic have now won just eight of Postecoglou’s 16 games at the helm in all competitions. The Bhoys will look to move about a 50% win-rate against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Celtic striker Jota used to difficult situations

Jota doubts Celtic’s mixed start under Postecoglou will daunt any player at Parkhead. The summer signing on loan from Benfica feels those in Glasgow will have already experienced similar circumstances in their careers.

So, the key to Postecoglou plotting a brighter future, for Jota, lies in the Hoops learning from their mistakes. As the Australian has the quality and ideas to forge successes.

“As professional players and with the experience we have had in the last few years, we learn with every single situation,” Jota said at a press conference on Tuesday.

“For sure, everyone has had to these types of situations and the solution is always looking forward, looking for the errors we made in previous matches and just keep on fighting. I think that’s the solution.

“Of course, there are some results that didn’t go quite well. But we know the quality is there, the ideas are there and in other games we did very good. So, we have to recover physically and mentally, and be ready for the next game.”

Jota to inspire change at Parkhead?

Postecoglou will hope Jota can start to inspire change at Parkhead when Celtic host Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday. The summer signing has already made an impression on results, but has only won two of five appearances so far.

Jota helped Celtic to beat Ross County on his Premiership debut and edge Raith Rovers in the League Cup last Thursday. The 22-year-old netted his first Bhoys goal at home to John McGlynn’s Rovers. He then teed up Abada on Sunday, for his second assist of the season.

The winger’s efforts have already left a mark on the Parkhead hierarchy, even if wins have not been too forthcoming. Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph claimed earlier this month the Hoops are already considering buying the Benfica loanee next year.
