The reveal date for the PS Plus October 2021 free games is right around the corner and a new leak suggests that the predictions of many are correct.

Subscribers have until October 4th to claim the current freebies for September. Overcooked All You Can Eat is a fun party game for those on PS5, Predator Hunting Grounds is an average multiplayer experience, meanwhile Hitman 2 is the crème de la crème of assassin games.

While the current line-up is a mixture of average to absolutely fantastic, the line-up for Halloween could feature a brand new multiplayer shooter to rival CoD and Battlefield.

When will the PS Plus October 2021 games be revealed?

The next batch of free games for PS Plus October 2021 are expected to be revealed and announced on September 29th.

It’s not confirmed, but Sony typically announces the upcoming line-up of freebies in the final week of the current month and it typically happens on Wednesday. They’ve sometimes announced the games on a Monday or Tuesday, but this is rare rather than the norm.

While the titles will likely be revealed on September 29th, they won’t be released until October 5th. This is exactly when Hitman 2 and co will be replaced.

PS Plus October 2021 leaks

The PS Plus October 2021 leak suggests that the free games are Hell Let Loose, Mortal Kombat X, and PGA Tour 2K21.

This leak comes courtesy of the French website Delalabs (via VGC). It doesn’t guarantee that they are the freebies that will be offered, but PlayStation Plus titles are often correctly leaked a couple of days in advance.

Assuming it’s true, then it’s a mixed bag month. Hell Let Loose will be the big title for everyone, but it will be exclusive to PS5. Mortal Kombat X will be the base version of the game, and this is disappointing for PS5 owners as it’s already offered as part of Sony’s subscription collection that is exclusive to next-gen.

As for PGA Tour 2K21, it’s massively meh for anyone not interested in golf and will likely be received as poorly as the August inclusion of Tennis World Tour 2.

One of our PS Plus October 2021 predictions for PS5 was Team 17’s Hell Let Loose.

It’s a World War II multiplayer shooter which allows up to 100 players online at once. We predicted this game because of its exclusive beta on PlayStation as well as because it’s available for pre-order everywhere else bar Sony’s console.

Our other predictions were Medieval Remake and World War Z. Medieval Remake seemed reasonable as it came out two years ago and is a suitable for everyone game with Halloween themes, meanwhile World War Z is a zombie shooter that just received its Aftermath expansion.

Again assuming the leak is correct, the only guess we will have gotten right is Hell Let Loose. This isn’t anything to brag about though as everyone and their grandma predicted it, but here’s hoping it comes to fruition.

And, if we are getting Hell Let Loose, Mortal Kombat X, and PGA Tour 2K21, it’s sorely disappointing that there’s no horror game for Halloween.
