Lucas Moura has sparked some Tottenham Hotspur fans to take to social media after claiming now is not the time for public statements but hard work, via the Evening Standard.
The Brazilian forward was reluctant to talk specifics as he addressed Spurs’ north London derby defeat to Arsenal. Lucas played the full 90-minutes at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, but could not influence the scoreline.
He came close to teeing up a nervy end after forcing Aaron Ramsdale to tip a shot onto the crossbar. But remains without a goal or an assist over seven games in all competitions after his return from injury.

Lucas critical of Tottenham performance
Arsenal comfortably beat Tottenham on Sunday, and Lucas admits their performance was not good enough. The £80k-a-week winger also notes the Spurs players are hurting as they know how much the derby means to fans. Yet Jermaine Jenas has suggested otherwise.
“The feeling is very, very bad,” the £23m ace said. “We know what it means for the fans, for the club and of course, we wanted to win. We wanted a different result. It’s not a time to speak. It’s a time to be quiet and work hard. It was a very bad game; it didn’t work at all.
“I think they took advantage of our mistakes. We gave them too much space and we didn’t play. We didn’t try to play, we didn’t try to have the ball, we have quality to have the ball, to build, to do more than what we did. So many long balls.
“We were not aggressive enough and they punished us. Even 3-0 down, it was not finished. Second-half, we did different, it was quite [good]. But it was too late, 3-0 from the first-half was very difficult to turn over. But we tried, we fought until the end, but it was not enough. We’re not happy and we need to improve.”
Fans react to Lucas’ claims
Some Tottenham fans took to social media to react to Lucas’ comments and voiced their frustrations. That’s because some question the need to say now is the time to work hard, rather than prove that on the pitch with their previous performances amid a torrid run.
Tottenham have now failed to win any of their last three Premier League games, while conceding nine goals. They have also only scored once, coming on Sunday, after 3-0 losses to Crystal Palace and Chelsea.
Additionally, a few noted the role manager Nuno Espirito Santo played in Tottenham losing and how they lost to Arsenal. With the Portuguese’s style of play coming into question and how the players are taking to his demands.
So, here are some of the messages Tottenham fans shared in response to Lucas’ comments…
