Ledley King has said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:23pm, September 26, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur head coach Nuno is not playing Dele Alli in the right position.
The Tottenham legend has said that Spurs head coach Nuno needs to play Alli as a number 10.
The 25-year-old England international has largely been used as a central midfielder.
King made the comments following Tottenham’s defeat to Arsenal in the North London derby on Sunday.
Alli could not make any impact on the match whatsoever and was taken off at half time.
King said about Alli on Sky Sports Premier League (7:23pm, September 26, 2021): “I personally think his best role is in the number 10 where he can attack the box. We know he has great energy, an eye for goal. That’s his strength.”

What to do with Dele Alli?
Alli did do relatively well in the opening matches this season in a deeper position in midfield.
But the midfielder is not doing much of note now, and maybe Nuno needs to play him as a number 10.

Spurs are not creating much, which is a big reason why star striker Harry Kane is struggling for goals at the moment.
It would make sense for Nuno to at least give Alli a run in the team as a number 10 and allow him to express himself and play to his strengths.
Back in 2017-18, Alli scored nine goals and gave 10 assists in the Premier League, while in 2016-17, he scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in the league.
