Celtic would be wise to bring loaned-out striker Leigh Griffiths back to Parkhead when possible according to pundit Davie Provan.
The Bhoys chose to loan Griffiths out on deadline day, sending him back to his former club Dundee for first-team action.
Griffiths has had off-field issues to deal with in recent times, and Celtic seemingly felt it was better for him to head away and play elsewhere.
The 31-year-old is out of contract next summer and may have already played his final game for Celtic.
Celtic’s striking problems
Celtic sold Odsonne Edouard on deadline day, whilst Vakoun Issouf Bayo was also moved on this summer.
Albian Ajeti still doesn’t look like a regular goalscorer for Celtic, whilst Kyogo Furuhashi has been injured after a bright start.
Add in that new signing Giogos Giakoumakis has yet to play for Celtic and boss Ange Postecoglou has been short of goalscoring options in attack.

Provan hopes Celtic bring Griffiths back
Pundit and former Celtic man Provan has now told The Scottish Sun that he thinks Griffiths could have turned Celtic’s 1-0 defeat at Livingston last week.
Provan thinks that Griffiths is showing signs of his quality at Dundee and would still make an impact for the Bhoys.
Provan did note that a return to Celtic is unlikely, but he hopes Celtic have a recall clause and can bring the striker back mere weeks after letting him go.
“I reckon I’ve a much better chance of making a Celtic comeback than Leigh Griffiths,” said Provan. “But there were signs in the Dundee derby that Griff is getting back up to speed. Sure, he didn’t score — but his movement had Charlie Mulgrew in knots at times.”
“A few hours later Ange Postecoglou couldn’t call on a striker as Celtic fired blanks at Livi. A match-fit Griffiths would do any team in the Premiership a turn. I hope Celts have a recall clause in that loan deal,” he added.
