Gary Neville has said on his podcast that he was impressed by Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang against Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal got the better of Tottenham 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League yesterday.
Aubameyang started the North London derby and scored in the 27th minute.
Former Manchester United defender Neville was on co-commentary duty for the match on Sky Sports, and he was impressed by the shift put in by the Gabon international striker.
The Englishman has added that he thought that the 32-year-old was going to leave Arsenal a few months ago.
Neville said about Aubameyang on his podcast: “I thought they had lost him a few months ago. I thought he doesn’t look like he wants to be here anymore, but today it’s really interesting that from the first second he set the tone as a striker.”
The pundit added on Sky Sports Premier League (7:08pm, September 26, 2021): “I have to say actually. Aubameyang’s pressing from the front in the first 10, 15 minutes was fantastic as well.”

Impressive performance
Aubameyang struggled for goals last season, and the striker did not exactly make a great start to the 2021-22 Premier League campaign.
However, the striker is beginning to show some form and was brilliant against Tottenham in the North London derby yesterday.
The former Borussia Dortmund striker was leading the line well and was pressing high.
Aubameyang was leading by example against Tottenham, and perhaps the striker is now going to resume banging in the goals for fun.
Things are looking up for Arsenal at the moment, and the Emirates Stadium faithful must be very optimistic right now.
