David Moyes has stated that ‘you can see why people want to watch Leeds’ after his West Ham side recorded a late 2-1 win on Saturday, as he told Football London.
The West Ham boss claimed that ‘you get sucked into their game’ when you face Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds side.
It was a tough and gruelling win for those from East London because they needed to come from behind, and a late Michail Antonio winner, in order to maintain their positive start to the season.
It’s not so positive for Leeds because they are winless after their first six games and dropping more points after taking the lead yesterday doesn’t help anyone’s cause.
After the game, Moyes spoke in glowing terms about the opposition and what both sets of managers wouldn’t have liked.
“You can see why people want to watch Leeds,” said Moyes. “You get sucked into their game.
“It was a great game for the neutral but not the managers because of the counter-attacks. We missed a few chances and I thought the second half, we were better.”
Through to the next round of the League Cup, sitting in the top seven and in Europe.
It’s some time to be a West Ham fan and Moyes has played a huge part in the club being in its current position.
From battling relegation when the Scotsman first joined to now competing for those European spots is some turnaround.
It also needs to be remembered that during his first stint, he wasn’t handed the keys on a permanent basis because the powers that be felt that Manuel Pellerigini was a better fit, what a mistake that was.
