Aston Villa fans have loved Leon Bailey’s reaction to their 1-0 win at Manchester United on Saturday.

The flying winger was injured for yesterday’s contest, but it didn’t stop him from taking to Instagram, as the seconds were ticking by till the final whistle.

Bailey posted his reaction on his Instagram live, as the final whistle blew and he became even more popular with the Villa supporters.

Even though Dean Smith was without Bailey’s blistering pace and all-action style, it didn’t stop the team from putting on a performance that meant that they deserved all three points.

Both teams had numerous opportunities to put the ball into the back of the net, but an end-to-end game, somehow, was still goalless with minutes left on the clock.

With Villa’s new set-piece coach – Austin MacPhee – a new recruit in the summer, his magic was working wonders once again when Kortney Hause was heading in the winner.

Oh, so he thought.

Minutes later, the Villa defender – who was only brought into the side because Axel Tuanazebe couldn’t play against his parent club – was then punished for a handball in the penalty area.

But Bruno Fernandes, despite a specialist in taking spot-kicks – fired his penalty over the bar, over the stands, out of Manchester and into Hause’s back garden.

Bailey was clearly delighted with what he was seeing as the seconds were ticking down and Villa fans think they have a warming character in their ranks.

Here is a selection of Villa fans reacting to Bailey’s IG video after the win at Old Trafford:
