Leeds United lost 2-1 to West Ham United on Saturday afternoon, but fans seemed pretty impressed with Rodrigo Moreno’s performance up front.

The Whites took the lead in the first half as Rodrigo broke down the left and found Mateusz Klich.

He then picked out Raphinha to fire a left-footed strike beyond Lukasz Fabianski.

Leeds couldn’t find a second, and were made to pay as Junior Firpo diverted Jarrod Bowen’s shot past Illan Meslier.

It got worse for Leeds late on with Michail Antonio slotting home a late winner for West Ham, completing the turnaround.

Leeds are still without a league win this season and currently sit in the Premier League relegation zone.

Rodrigo shows promise for Leeds

With Patrick Bamford out injured, Rodrigo was called upon to spearhead the Leeds attack against West Ham.

The Spaniard is a striker by trade, but Bamford being a mainstay has forced Rodrigo into a deeper role.

Rodrigo was given a chance up front on Saturday, and recorded one key pass, two shots on target and one aerial duel won.

Leeds United fans took to Twitter to react to Rodrigo’s display, and they were impressed despite him fading in the second half.

Some called Rodrigo ‘immense’ and ‘unreal’, feeling that Bamford has a challenge to get his spot back.

Others think Rodrigo looked like a different player on Saturday, hailing him for ‘brilliant’ performance.
