West Ham fans were impressed by Raphinha’s performance as Leeds fell to an agonising 2-1 defeat at Elland Road on Saturday.

A clinical finish from Raphinha opened the scoring in the first half, as Leeds got the better of their opponents during what was an end-to-end first period in Yorkshire.

But the Hammers hit back after the break, firstly through Junior Firpo putting the ball into the back of his own net, before Michail Antonio broke Leeds hearts with a late, late winner.

West Ham fans were no doubt jubilant and over the moon with the three points, but they liked what they saw from Leeds’ flying winger.

Direct, intelligent with the ball, the ability to make the right decisions then adding that with speed and a box of tricks.

The 24-year-old was Leeds’ biggest threat on the day, but when he went off just after the hour mark, it changed the game towards West Ham fans direction.

The West Ham faithful admitted that, during the game, Raphinha caused Aaron Cresswell a number of problems.

That’s three goals in six games for Leeds’ speed king, yet what will disappoint him the post is that only two points have come from those matches.

The Brazilian seems to be Marcelo Bielsa’s only viable threat, at the moment, and if Leeds were to lose him, for whatever reason, then it would worry an already fearful fanbase.

Leeds are yet to win a game this season, and until they do, then the obvious of second season syndrome will be thrown at them.

But when Patrick Bamford returns, added with Raphinha’s magic, then Leeds have something to cling on to, in regards to them pushing up the Premier League table as quickly as possible.
