Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted to reports that those within the club feel that Harry Kane dropping deep has ‘gone too far now’.

The Athletic have reported that Kane should return to leading the line for Spurs and that there is a ‘theory’ at the club that the 2020/21 Golden Boot winner dropping deep has ‘gone too far’.

During Tottenham’s defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League last week, Kane was used out on the left by Nuno Espirito Santo.

Added with that, like he did last season, he was also dropping deep, into his own half, on many occasions.

Whilst Spurs fans understand that it is an issue, they don’t blame the player because they feel there is no creative mind sitting in that pocket.

It has to be questioned whether Christian Eriksen has been replaced by Spurs and whether Daniel Levy has put money in his pocket to bring in another playmaker.

There is Tanguy Ndombele, who is a ball-carrier and someone who provides that moment of magic.

Then there is summer signing Bryan Gil – who is yet to start in the Premier League – but he is more of a wide player.

Rather than Kane dropping deep, it’s those sitting in those areas that need to make the ball talk.

Some fans feel Ndombele needs to play further forward and Gil needs to start in order for that to happen.

Here is a selection of Spurs fans reacting to the report about Kane ahead of the North London derby:
