West Ham United striker Michail Antonio scored against Leeds United at Elland Road yesterday and wants to become the top scorer in the Premier League this season.
That’s what the former Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest winger said on Match of the Day on BBC One (11:26pm, September 25, 2021).
The 31-year-old striker found the back of the the net in the 90th minute to help the Hammers to a 2-1 win against Leeds.
MOTD presenter and former Tottenham Hotspur striker Gary Lineker was impressed by the confidence of the striker.
Lineker said on Match of the Day on BBC One (11:26pm, September 25, 2021).: “Love that confidence. Very refreshing.”
Antonio is not a ‘natural’ striker and has played as a right-back and winger for West Ham.
However, the Jamaica international is now playing as a striker and is a key figure in the team at West Ham.

The 31-year-old is leading the line well for David Moyes’s side and is looking very confident and sharp in front of goal.
The West Ham no.9 has scored five goals and provided three assists in five Premier League games so far this season.
Antonio has also scored one goal in one Europa League game this campaign.
It is not going to be easy for the Hammers star to beat the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku to the Golden Boot this season, but you just never know.
