Just before the penalty, United and Villa players were near the spot.
Martinez was caught on camera telling United and Portugal international forward Cristiano Ronaldo to take the spot kick.
The former Arsenal goalkeeper, who joined Villa from the Gunners in the summer of 2020, also celebrated the miss from Fernnades as if he had saved it.
Seaman said about Martinez on Sky Sports News (10:51am, September 26, 2021): “Martinez is like he has got a nice fiery spirit to him.
“I have seen him do it in shootouts before where he tries to get up close to the person who is taking the penalty. To be fair, he is proving a great loss for Arsenal, if I am honest.”
Martinez has been superb for Villa and is the number one between the posts.
The Argentina international is a very good shot-stopper, and he is also able to spray good passes.
Martinez is a very good and confident goalkeeper who will be key to Villa’s success this season.
