Phi Thompson has said on the ‘What’s Jeff?’ podcast that Liverpool have made Sadio Mane a superstar on the global stage.

The Liverpool legend made the comments about Mane while discussing the former Southampton forward with fellow ex-Sky Sports pundit Matt Le Tissier, a Saints legend.

Thompson has raved about the Liverpool forward, and has said that the 29-year-old Senegal international is a superstar on the world stage.

The Liverpool legend said about Mane on the ‘What’s Jeff?’ podcast: “I always thought that he was a good player at Southampton, but his consistency level, his assists, his pace, what he does for Liverpool, I think in fairness, we have literally made him a superstar on the world stage.”

Global superstar

Mohamed Salah gets more goals than Mane and is a great player in his own right, but what the Senegalese brings to the Liverpool team cannot be undermined.

The former Southampton star works hard for the team, creates chances, scores goals, and is a force to be reckoned with.

Mane’s pace and ability to run at defenders is one of the reasons why Liverpool are so scary in attack.

The forward was a big reason why Liverpool could win the Premier League and the Champions League in recent seasons.

Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world and a global brand, and playing consistently well for the Reds and winning major trophies has certainly made Mane a household name around the planet.
