Paul Merson has predicted on SportsKeeda that Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United will lose to David Moyes’s West Ham United this weekend.

Leeds will take on West Ham at Elland Road in the Premier League on Saturday.

Former Arsenal star Merson believes that the Hammers will pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 3-1 win.

The Sky Sports pundit believes that opposition teams are starting to realise how to hurt Leeds, and he thinks that Michail Antonio could destroy Bielsa’s team if he starts for West Ham.

As reported by Leeds Live, striker Antonio will be fit for the match after being left out of the squad that beat Manchester United in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

Paul Merson’s prediction

Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “If you watch Leeds United now, you’ll realize that teams are changing their players for the game and setting up accordingly to neutralize them – it’s a trend that has caught on in the Premier League.

“I think West Ham can win this game and if Michail Antonio plays, I don’t see how Leeds can live with his threat.

“Leeds probably won’t have the season they had last time around and have not started well.

“Liverpool could have scored seven past them two weeks ago, indicating that they are vulnerable at the back.

“West Ham aren’t in the same league as Liverpool, but they can hurt Leeds and should win this game, especially if Antonio returns to the side.

A footnote added: “Prediction: Leeds United 1-3 West Ham United”.

Michail Antonio a big threat

Antonio is not a ‘natural’ striker, but the 31-year-old is brilliant upfront and will be a handful for the Leeds defenders if he plays.

The Jamaica international is a very good finisher who is strong and can hold the ball up.

Antonio’s clever movement and ability to run at defenders is also going to be a problem for Leeds.

The West Ham no.9 has scored four goals and provided three assists in four Premier League appearances so far this season.

Antonio scored 10 goals and gave five assists in 24 Premier League starts for the Hammers last season.
