West Ham United are through to the last 16 of the Carabao Cup after beating Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford, with Alex Kral making his debut.

The Hammers took an early lead as Manuel Lanzini found the net, and they managed to frustrate United to claim the win.

Manchester United had plenty of shots on goal, but they just couldn’t get past Alphonse Areola as West Ham go through.

David Moyes’ men will now meet United’s rivals Manchester City in the last 16 next month.

Kral makes West Ham debut

The game allowed Moyes to rotate his side, handing competitive debuts to Areola and Alex Kral.

Both players joined over the summer, but this was the first real look at Kral following his deadline day move from Spartak Moscow.

Kral, who is on loan at West Ham with a view to a permanent move, offered a decent showing against United.

Whilst he was a little inconsistent on the ball, he worked incredible hard off the ball and was vital to West Ham’s clean sheet.
