Aston Villa talent Cameron Archer could reportedly leave the club this January on loan following another impressive performance.
According to Birmingham Live, it ‘looks likely’ that the 19-year-old striker will leave Villa Park in the winter window.
Archer scored against Chelsea in the League Cup, taking his tally for the first team this season in all competitions to four. More than the likes of Ollie Watkins and Emi Buendia.
Whilst a loan move would be beneficial for Archer, Villa will have to be wary of his contract situation. The teenager’s current deal expires in 2022. And as per the report, a decision is yet to be made by the club on the attacker’s future.
Indeed, with Watkins and Danny Ings now at the club, first-team opportunities will be limited for Archer in the league. And with the teenager impressing in the League Cup, plenty of clubs would be open to taking the youngster on loan.
Moreover, the quality of opposition Archer has impressed against could go in the attacker’s favour as to which club he ends up at.
A hat-trick against AFC Barrow and a wonderful header against the reigning European champions means that the striker might do well for a top Championship side.

With January some time away, though, the focus for Villa should be tying the striker down to a new long-term deal.
The Midlands side have a plethora of exciting names coming through the youth ranks. And Archer has proven that there are chances for academy players to impress in the first team if given the chance.
