As a Hulu miniseries, Nine Perfect Strangers starring Nicole Kidman has a limited run, so how many total episodes are there and is there an episode 9?

Among the A-list ensemble cast, it’s thanks to comedian Melissa McCarthy for ejecting some humour into the ominous ambiance of Tranquillam House brought by Nicole Kidman as Masha, the wellness leader and drink spiker.

Billed as a miniseries, the David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies) drama is based on Liane Moriarty’s 2018 novel of the same name, where nine strangers battling their torments unite at a pricey retreat in order to decipher them.

Although, with Masha helming the treatment, things get sinister pretty quickly.

Fans have been tuning in weekly since its premiere on August 18, 2021 so how many episodes are there left?

How many episodes is Nine Perfect Strangers?

Nine Perfect Strangers will run for eight episodes with the finale airing on Hulu on Wednesday, September 22nd 2021 for US viewers, so there will not be an episode 9.

For UK viewers on the other hand, they will have to wait till Friday, September 24th 2021 for the finale on Amazon Prime, so they’ll have to avoid the internet to dodge the spoilers.

As to whether or not there will be a season 2, it doesn’t look likely right now. However, that’s not to say it will never happen; Big Little Lies was also intended to be a miniseries, but HBO extended it into a second season thanks to several Emmy nominations, with Moriarty writing a new novella specifically for the show.

Keith Urban’s new song for Nine Perfect Strangers finale

The show becomes a family affair in episode 8, with Kidman’s husband of 15 years, Keith Urban, featuring his new song.

Titled ‘Crimson Blue’, the country song was reportedly written and performed specifically for the Hulu series, The singer teased the song on his Instagram a day before the finale with a video of him making a smoothie, the same way Masha does in the series.

A brew of blue milk, blue cheese, Tranquillum bananas, blueberries, crimson food colouring and a micro amount of blue cheese (a reference to Masha’s micro-dosing), the singer takes a sip of the unique concoction with only a response of “oh” – the camera definitely cut off before he was able to vomit it out.

Nine Perfect Strangers is available to stream on Hulu and Amazon Prime now.
