MGK aka Machine Gun Kelly is making the headlines for allegedly dissing famous metal band Slipknot. The diss has also brought back past beef with Eminem which Twitter users have quipped to be the reason behind Richard Colson Baker turning rocker from a rapper.

For the unversed, according to a Loudwire report, Machine Gun Kelly took the stage final day of the 2021 Riot Fest in Chicago on Sunday 19th when he dissed the metal band right before performing his 2020 hit track ‘Jawbreaker.’

The 31-year-old ‘Tickets to My Downfall’ crooner apparently said, “Hey, you wanna know what I’m really happy that I’m not doing? Being 50 years old wearing a fuckin’ weird mask on a fucking stage, talkin’ shit,” And added, “So anyway, what’s everyone’s favorite candy? Reese’s Pieces?”

MGK’s beef with Eminem brought back by Twitter

MGK’s beef with Eminem has been a much-talked-about-topic in the music community. The duo had reportedly released multiple diss tracks that established their own rap-beef genre.

The latest edition to the beef was fueled by Eminem in two tracks released in December 2020 including Zeus and Gnat.

In ‘Zeus,” the lyrics said, “Fair weather, wishy-washy/ She thinks Machine washed me/ Swear to God, man, her favorite rapper wish he’d crossed me.”

In ‘Gnat’, he takes it up a notch rapping, “They come at me with machine guns/ Like trying to fight off a gnat.”

How MGK and Eminem rap-beef started

The source of MGK and Eminem’s beef can be traced almost a decade back when Kelly commented on Eminem’s daughter in 2012 calling her “hot as f***, in the most respectful way possible cuz Em is king!”

Six years later, Eminem replied in a track called ‘Kamikaze,’ “I’m talkin’ to you, but you already know who the f*** you are, Kelly / I don’t use sublims and sure as f*** don’t sneak-diss / But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie.”

The pop-punk crooner dissed Eminem back in the track ‘rap devil’ where he says, “Took you six years and a surprise album just to come with a diss.”

The lyrics also added, “Tough talk from a rapper paying millions for security a year /’I think my dad’s gone crazy,’ yeah, Hailie, you right / Dad’s always mad cooped up in the studio yelling at the mic / You’re sober and bored, huh (I know) / About to be 46 years old, dog.”

Explaining his stance, Kelly wrote on Twitter, “I’m standing up for not just myself, but my generation. I’m doing the same s*** you did back in ur day. life is still real on my side, and I had to take time from the grind to defend myself from someone I called an idol.”

Social Media users bring back Eminem feud in light of recent Slipknot row

Social media users have brought back the Eminem feud alleging that the ‘rap god’ is the reason for MGK’s genre switch! To add more context, Slipknot’s frontman Corey Taylor apparently hinted at MGK in an interview earlier this year.

He said, “The [young artists] that really frustrate me are the ones that they take something that’s been around forever and then just basically rework it and call it new—even though it’s completely derivative.”

He divulged, “I [hate] the artists who failed in one genre and decided to go rock—and I think he knows who he is. But that’s another story.”

Talking about the genre change, a fan tweeted, “Eminem roasted @machinegunkelly so bad that he stopped rapping & got into pop. Now Corey is gonna make MGK end up doing country. lol Keep switching genres until you find 1 that won’t laugh you out of. PS Machine Gun Kelly was the name of a dope drummer on YT until you stole it.”

Another quipped, “MGK started beef w Eminem and got bullied out of hip hop… makes a rock album and now he wants to take shots at Slipknot… MGK Country album coming soon.”
