Steven Bergwijn has taken to Instagram to upload a photo of himself wearing a protective boot, ahead of Tottenham’s clash with Wolves.
What’s the story?
Well, the £73,077-a-week forward missed the 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace with an ankle injury, but managed to make a comeback against Rennes.
Bergwijn played 30 minutes of the 2-2 draw in France, although he missed the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea – again with an ankle injury, according to Transfermarkt.
Now, the £27m man has posted a photo of himself in a moon boot, which could signal a spell on the sidelines as he looks to let the issue heal.
In our view, it’s safe to say he won’t feature in the Carabao Cup clash against Wolves tomorrow evening.
Nuno Espirito Santo could also be without Lucas Moura and Ryan Sessegnon, both of whom were carrying injuries.
Is Steven Bergwijn crucial to Tottenham?

When the Dutchman is usually mentioned, you don’t consider him to be a vital member of Nuno’s first-team.
However, the north Londoners won their first three Premier League games this season, and Bergwijn started all of them.
Since his absence against Crystal Palace, things have gone downhill.
Of course, that isn’t entirely down to Bergwijn’s absence, although he has certainly been a big loss in recent weeks.

He provided the assist against Manchester City, and also did well against Wolves where he caused problems down the left flank.
With some proper coaching under Nuno, the 23-year-old certainly has the skillset to become a dangerous Premier League forward.
Hopefully, the former PSV Eindhoven man’s issue isn’t too serious, and he’ll be back playing in no time.
